Variety – The Children’s Charity of Florida has made a $25,000 gift to UCF Go Baby Go! to support the creation of specially adapted cars that help children with mobility challenges.

The gift was made in honor of the UCF Go Baby Go! 10th anniversary, which was celebrated in October and included the presentation of the 200th car to an 18-month-old girl named Lucy. The Go Baby Go! national program was founded by Cole Galloway at the University of Delaware and brought to UCF in 2015 by Clinical Associate Professor Jennifer Tucker in the Division of Physical Therapy. The program is based on the premise that mobility leads to greater independence and can positively affect a child’s physical, cognitive and social development.

“UCF Go Baby Go! is grateful for the consistent and long-term support of Variety – The Children’s Charity of Florida,” Tucker says. “Their generous contribution will help expand our Kids Building for Kids workshops and provide funding for graduate students who are instrumental to the program’s success. Through this investment, they are helping sustain and grow UCF Go Baby Go!, allowing us to reach and positively impact even more children and families across Central Florida.”

The gift from Variety was made in April on UCF’s 2026 Day of Giving. The non-profit is a long-time community partner of UCF’s Go Baby Go chapter and has sponsored customized builds of battery-powered ride-on cars, giving children with developmental disabilities independence, confidence and the joy of play. The cars are provided at no charge to families.

Variety is a national non-profit that delivers life-changing equipment and services to children with mobility or medical needs. The Florida chapter was formed in 1989.
