UCF Go Baby Go! is a community-based program that creates opportunities for children with disabilities and mobility challenges to move, explore, play, and participate. Through adaptive ride-on cars, assistive technology, education, research, and community partnerships, we work to increase access to independent mobility and inclusive play.

No. We do not limit participation to a specific diagnosis. We consider each child’s individual mobility needs and whether an adapted ride-on car may provide meaningful opportunities for movement, exploration, play, and participation.

No. A child does not necessarily need to be receiving physical therapy to participate. Go Baby Go! is a community mobility and participation initiative and works collaboratively with families, educators, therapists, engineers, and other community partners when appropriate.

After an application is submitted, our team reviews the information provided and considers the child’s needs, available build opportunities, and program capacity. Families will be contacted regarding next steps. Submission of an application does not guarantee that a car will be available.

Go Baby Go! cars are provided to participating families through the support of UCF, community partners, grants, and donors. There is never a cost to families to apply for or receive a Go Baby Go! car. Our goal is to make accessible mobility opportunities available to families without financial barriers.

Yes. The goal of Go Baby Go! is to provide children with opportunities to use their modified ride on car in meaningful environments—including at home, in the community, and during play. Families are encouraged to incorporate the car into everyday opportunities for exploration and participation.

Go Baby Go! cars are modified ride-on vehicles designed to provide opportunities for independent mobility, exploration, and play. They are not intended to replace medically prescribed mobility equipment or other assistive technology.

Yes. Go Baby Go! can complement a child’s existing mobility equipment. The purpose of an adapted ride-on car is to provide additional opportunities for movement, exploration, and play in environments where another mobility device may not be appropriate or accessible.

We encourage families to contact the UCF Go Baby Go! team when their child no longer uses their car. Depending on the condition of the vehicle and current program needs, we may be able to accept returned cars for repair, modification, or use by another child.

Yes! Whenever possible, we encourage children and families to be part of the Go Baby Go! experience. Building and customizing the car provides an opportunity for families to collaborate with students, faculty, engineers, and community partners while creating a mobility solution that is meaningful for their child.

Yes! Go Baby Go! provides interdisciplinary learning opportunities for UCF students. Students may have opportunities to participate in car builds, community events, education, outreach, assistive technology projects, and other program activities.

Yes. Our Kids Building for Kids initiative creates opportunities for students to learn about disability, mobility, assistive technology, engineering, problem-solving, and inclusive design while contributing to mobility opportunities for children in their community.

We welcome partnerships with schools, healthcare organizations, community organizations, STEM programs, businesses, and other groups interested in supporting inclusive mobility and participation. Partnerships may include volunteer opportunities, educational programming, events, equipment, funding, or collaborative projects.
