Neurologic residents Gabriela Rodriguez and Sarah McLennan joined residency faculty and board-certified neurologic clinical specialists Clayton Stocker ‘17DPT, Annalise Perez, Emma Scammon, and Clinical Associate Professor Morris Beato to present “The ABCs of Disorders of Consciousness: What’s UWS, MCS+, and JFK got to do with it?” on Sept. 18, at the Florida Physical Therapy Association Annual Conference and Assembly of Representatives in Orlando. The session offered attendees practical guidance on examining and managing patients with disorders of consciousness, drawing on the team’s clinical expertise and the residency’s commitment to advancing evidence-based neurologic physical therapy care.
The residents also shared their scholarly work through poster presentations at the conference. McLennan presented “Physical Therapy Outcomes in a Rare Pediatric Case of RANBP2-Associated Necrotizing Encephalopathy,” and Rodriguez presented “Central Cord Syndrome in a Basketball Player with Congenital Spinal Stenosis: A Case Report.”
