The College of Health Professions of Sciences welcomes Antonio Yancey as the new finance/budget director. He began in the position on April 3.

Yancey joins the college with two decades of financial, budget and human resource management and leadership experience in both higher education and healthcare. He most recently served as the associate vice president and business affairs officer for the Division of Research at Wayne State University where he oversaw administrative, fiscal and personnel operations. Prior to that, he served as director of ambulatory services for Children’s Hospital of Michigan, and managed operations, human resources and finances.

“Dr. Yancey is talented and experienced leader and I’m grateful he has joined our team in this important role, “says Founding Dean Christopher D. Ingersoll. “Having his skills and expertise will be essential as we work to ensure the continued strength and success of our college.”

In his role at CHPS, Yancey will collaborate with leadership to steer the financial direction of the college and develop financial plans and forecasts to help meet strategic goals. He will oversee a 5-member team of budget analysts and travel/procurement coordinators.

“I am excited to be a part of the college fiscal operations team as it endures process changes from several administrative reorganizations,” says Yancey.  “As someone who embraces operational efficiencies, I welcome change in this regard and look forward to the end results.”

Yancey is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers and the Central Association of College and University Business Officers.

Yancey holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Northwood University and an MBA from Lawrence Technological University. He earned a doctorate of management in organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix.

He has a son, D’Angelo, who plays football for Oviedo High School.  D’Angelo is fascinated with helping others, and as a result has decided he would like to become a pediatrician one day.
