CHPS RESEARCH STUDIES

Exploration of the Ballet-Specific Movement Screen in Dancers

This study aims to compare individuals’ performance on a movement screening specific to dance to two movement screenings observing functional movements.

We expect that you will be enrolled in this research study for 2 sessions over no more than 3 weeks. Session 1 will be a survey conducted fully online at a time and location convenient to you and is expected to take 15-20 minutes. Session 2 will be scheduled 2-3 weeks after completion of Session 1 and is expected to take 1.5 hours. This session will consist of completion of consent and a survey on your personal device. In Session 2, you will participate in a participant profile interview followed by a dynamic warm up, then complete the movement screens, followed by completion of a post-screening DFOS completed in-person via Qualtrics.

You will be asked to wear traditional ballet attire i.e., a leotard and tights or tight fitted, spandex clothing. Sneakers and dance shoes of your choice that you are comfortable turning in will also be needed for completion of the movement screenings.
