Inclusion Qualifications:

  • 65 years of age or older
  • Willingness to engage in body composition testing, muscle strength testing, muscle function testing, muscle size testing, and answering questionnaires
  • Able to provide documentation from primary care doctor

Training and Detraining Effects Associated with the Neurotracker Visual Attention Training Device

Athletic Training, Health Sciences, Kinesiology, Physical Therapy Deadline: Mar 30, 2023 None

Inclusion Qualifications:

  • Male or Female between the ages of 18-40 years old
  • Healthy as determined by the Par-Q+ and a Medical History Questionnaire
  • Are meeting the American College of Sports Medicine standards by doing at least 150 minutes of aerobic exercise per week
  • Report Habitual caffeine intake  less than 300 mg·day (Equivalent to 3 cups of coffee per day or 216oz cans of Redbull)
  • Minimal previous experience on the Neurotracker device (defined as little to no experience (<10 exposures to core assessments) with the Neurotracker). 
  • No visual impairments, or impairment that cannot be corrected with corrective lenses 
  • Are currently not taking any prescription medications or over the counter medications known to impact attention such as amphetamines (Ritalin, Adderall, Vyvanse, etc). 
  • Currently not pregnant and do not become pregnant during the study period. 

Training and Detraining Effects Associated with the D2 Mode B Assessment

Inclusion Qualifications:

  • Male or Female between the ages of 18-40 years old
  • Healthy as determined by the Par-Q+ and a Medical History Questionnaire
  • Are recreationally active (at least 150 minutes exercise per week)
  • Report Habitual caffeine intake  less than 300 mg·day
  • Minimal experience with the Dynavision D2 Assessments
  • Have no visual impairments that would interfere with study participation, or impairment correctable with corrective lenses
  • Have no chronic illness requiring medical attention or are not taking prescription or over the counter medications which might affect your performance in the assessment sessions

  • Resistance Trained Males or Females between the ages of 18 to 35
  • Trained individuals are defined as: meeting the ACSM standards for recreationally active individuals of exercising ≥ 150 minutes exercise/week.
  • Are willing to come in for all testing visits

Biopsychosocial Contributors to Tissue Irritability in Individuals with Shoulder and Low Back Pain

Inclusion Qualifications:

  • Are a unilateral transtibial OR transfemoral amputee between the ages of 18 and 65 years.
  • Willingness to perform functional movement testing, maximal strength testing, and answer questionnaires assessing your level of pain and ability to complete activities of daily living.
  • Have no other major underlying health concerns and circumstances as described in the pre-enrollment health screen administered before enrollment.

Innovative Resistance Training for Multiple Sclerosis Patients

Athletic Training, Health Sciences, Kinesiology, Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology & Rehabilitation Science Deadline: Aug 1, 2023 None

Inclusion Qualifications:

  • Females between the ages of 18 to 55
  • Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis
  • Expanded Disability Status Score of 0 to 6.5
  • Able to walk 10 meters without assistance
  • Are willing to come in for all 29 testing visits over 14 weeks
