The speech-language pathology graduate program in the UCF School of Communication Sciences and Disorders now ranks in the top 17% of the nation according to the U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings for 2025. The program jumped to No. 48 nationwide, up 11 spots from its ranking last year and its highest ranking to date.
“We are thrilled to be recognized as one of the nation’s top 50 graduate programs in speech-language pathology,” says Professor and School of Communication Sciences and Disorders Director Ann Eddins. “This achievement reflects our commitment to growth, investment in faculty, expansion of state-of-the-art clinical, research, and simulation facilities, and recruitment of the nation’s top student talent. We have built a thriving training environment in which faculty, students, and staff strive to transform healthcare and improve lives.”
One of the largest programs in the country and the top supplier of speech-language pathologists in Florida, the Master of Communication Sciences and Disorders at UCF graduates 80-100 students each year. The program offers a comprehensive clinical education through a Communication Disorders Clinic that includes multiple specialty clinics. Students can also gain hands on experience at unique and innovative learning opportunities that range from intensive reading camps to aphasia treatment programs.
Students in the program have access to over 200 internship affiliations throughout Central Florida and provide about 12,000 hours of speech, language and hearing clinical services to the greater Orlando community annually.
The School also boasts six American Speech-Language-Hearing Association fellows on faculty.
“We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support and collaboration of our community partners,” Eddins says. “Their exceptional clinical training opportunities enable us to foster innovation, outstanding skill development, and leadership among our students as they prepare for successful careers.”
Speech-language pathology is one of 13 graduate programs at UCF ranking in the top 50 nationally.
