Effect of Fatigue on Quadriceps Force Control After ACL Reconstruction – Uninjured Control Group
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of fatigue on quadriceps force control after ACL reconstruction in comparison to those with no injury history. Participation involves a single ~1.5 hour study visit. During the visit, ultrasound imaging of the quadriceps muscles will be performed prior to a muscle force control assessment task. Upon completion of all study procedures, participants receive a $45 Amazon gift card as compensation for their time and effort.
Please note: At this time, we are only able to enroll moderately active, female participants between 18-20 years old in order to match the demographics of our ACL group.
Inclusion Qualifications:
- Ages 18-20
- Female
- No history of lower extremity surgery ever
- No history of lower extremity injury (defined as seeking medical attention) within the last 2 years
Exclusion Qualifications:
You may not participate in this research opportunity if any of the following applies to you:- Current lower limb infection
- Known or diagnosed muscular abnormality
- History of cardiopulmonary disorder
- History of neurological disorder (e.g. stroke, epilepsy, neuropathy, etc.)
