Resident Sarah Kollas Presents on Functional Movement Disorders at Physical Therapy State Conference

Sarah Kollas, PT, DPT, the current resident of the University of Central Florida – Orlando Health Neurologic Residency Program, co-presented with neurologic physical therapy experts at the Florida Physical Therapy Association’s Spring Conference held on March 24. Dr. Kollas discussed evidence-based physical therapy interventions for patients with functional movement disorders, formerly known as conversion disorders.

Other co-presenters included Rick Beato of the University of Central Florida’s School of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences and Rose Babcock of Select Physical Therapy, Chair of the FPTA Neurology Special Interest Group. The presentation included a discussion of the pathophysiology of functional movement disorders and assessment and management of the condition incorporating the latest available evidence.
