Residency Graduate Hammad Recognized with Early Career Professional Award

UCF and Orlando Health Neurologic Residency graduate and UCF alumni Uzair “Z” Hammad, PT, DPT, was recognized by the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy (ANPT) with an Early Career Professional Award. He is the second resident of the program to receive the award. Hammad was recognized by the academy for his professional service on the executive board of the Florida Physical Therapy Association Neurology SIG, in the Financial Fact Sheet Task Force of the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education, and as a co-host of the international podcast of the ANPT’s Spinal Cord Injury SIG. He currently works at Orlando Health’s Inpatient Rehabilitation’s Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Program.

Jeffrey Schmidt, PT, DPT, NCS, another UCF alumni who works as clinical neurologic specialist at Advent Health Neurologic Outpatient Rehabilitation was also recognized with the ANPT Early Career Professional Award for his research on patients with dementia and multiple sclerosis, as well as service to the FPTA Neurology SIG as Co-Chair of the Evidence Based Documents Committee.
