Faculty and Staff

Peter Buffington is the Clinic Director of the UCF Physical Therapy Clinic. He provides physical therapy care to the UCF community and assists with mentorship and clinical instruction of doctoral students in the UCF Doctor of Physical Therapy program. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English and Kinesiology from The College of William and Mary in 1999. After a brief period as a teacher, editor, and publisher, he returned to graduate school to pursue a career in physical therapy. He graduated with his doctoral degree in physical therapy from the University of Central Florida in 2012. Buffington is a board-certified clinical specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in Sports Physical Therapy.

After receiving his doctorate, Buffington began practicing at a private outpatient sports medicine clinic, where he worked with pediatric and high school athletes, post-surgical patients, and weekend warriors. He has presented at local and national conferences on Running Medicine, a special interest of his since he is a locally competitive endurance athlete.
