Yoga Nidra and Yoga Movement for Chronic Low Back Pain: Effects on Pain Processing and Movement
What is this study about?
Researchers at the University of Central Florida are conducting a study examining the immediate effects of:
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Movement
A Neutral Control Condition
on:
Pain processing
Movement-evoked pain
Psychological factors related to chronic low back pain
What will you do in this study?
Total Time Commitment:
Approximately 8 hours across 4 laboratory visits
Visit 1 –-Baseline Session (~2 Hours)
Informed consent
Eligibility screening
Questionnaires
Pain sensitivity testing using heat stimuli
Functional movement task familiarization
Visits 2-4 – Experimental Sessions (~2 Hours Each)
You will complete the following sessions in randomized order:
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Movement
Neutral Control Condition
Each session includes:
Pain questionnaires
Heat pain sensitivity testing
Functional movement tasks
A 25-30 minute intervention session
Visits are separated by at least 72 hours.
What else should you know?
During the study, you will complete questionnaires, movement tasks, and thermal pain sensitivity testing using a computer-controlled heat device.
You will not be paid for participation.
