Todd R. Fix, M.A., CCC-SLP, is an Associate Instructor in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Central Florida, where he also serves as Graduate Internship Program Coordinator. With over two decades of experience as a speech-language pathologist in acute care, rehabilitation, and academic settings, he specializes in clinical education and advanced instruction in dysphagia diagnostics, neuroanatomy, and evidence-based practice.
He is recognized for designing and implementing medically-based, clinical teaching programming for graduate students of speech-language pathology. His pedagogy includes immersive, high-fidelity hospital simulation experiences that enhance graduate student readiness for real-world clinical environments. Fix also leads interprofessional education initiatives, including School IPE Day and College IPE programs, preparing students for collaborative, patient-centered care across health disciplines.
Fix’s professional background includes leadership roles in acute care rehabilitation and national presentations on dysphagia/upper airway management, neuroanatomy, and clinical education. His work aligns with UCF’s mission of discovery, innovation, and inclusion, fostering student success and advancing community partnerships in healthcare.
