Kendall Cortelyou, Ph.D., is professor and director of the School of Global Health Management and Informatics at the University of Central Florida. An experienced educator, researcher, and academic leader, Cortelyou has held leadership roles across undergraduate and graduate programs in health services administration and health informatics. She also works closely with health care and community partners on workforce development and emerging health system needs.

Cortelyou is a UCF alumna, earning her master’s degree in health services administration and her Ph.D. in public affairs with a concentration in health services management and research.

Cortelyou’s current research focuses on substance use and the overdose crisis, with particular emphasis on using data to better understand emerging drug trends and inform community response. Her work examines innovative approaches to identifying changes in substance use and the illicit drug supply and translating those findings into actionable information for public health agencies, health care organizations, and community leaders. Her broader scholarship has included health care workforce issues, health informatics, consumer health informatics, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.

In addition to her academic work, Cortelyou is actively engaged with health care, public health, and community organizations, working to connect research and university expertise with real-world health challenges.
