Resident and Faculty Present at Health Leaders Summer Academy.

UCF and Orlando Health neurologic resident Gabriela Rodriguez presented at the 2025 Health Leaders Summer Academy (HLSA) alongside Neurologic Residency Director Morris “Rick” Beato, Sports Residency Coordinator Meredith Chaput and Clinical Professor Jennifer Plant. The team presented on the interdisciplinary management of concussion on July 15 

The HLSA is a hands-on, educational summer experience that is delivered in conjunction with the UCF College of Medicine to empower students to explore healthcare careers and build a foundation for success. From evaluating “patients” to exploring the basics of speech language pathology, these future changemakers got real-world experience and learned about the wide variety of impactful careers that begin with degrees in kinesiology, physical therapy, athletic training, social work, health sciences, and communication sciences and disorders.
