Nathan Henderson is a doctoral student in kinesiology under the supervision of Associate Professor Grant Norte in the Cognition, Neuroplasticity, and Sarcopenia (CNS) Laboratory. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Grand Canyon University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University. Nathan is a board-certified sports clinical specialist in physical therapy and has primarily worked with high school and collegiate athletes recovering from anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction.
Henderson’s doctoral training is supported by the UCF Trustees Doctoral Fellowship. His research interests center on biological and neuromuscular recovery following ACL reconstruction, with a particular emphasis on donor-site healing and the recovery of rapid force production. Through clinical experience, he has examined quadriceps rate of torque development, countermovement jump asymmetry following ACL reconstruction, and the reliability of isokinetic strength measurements. He has also presented educational and scientific content on these topics to clinicians in various practice settings.
Outside of research and clinical practice, Henderson enjoys trail running, basketball, and reading.
