What is This Study About?
We are investigating how blood flow restriction (BFR) walk training impacts muscle function in people with multiple sclerosis (MS).

Inclusion Qualifications:

  • 18-65 years old
  • Diagnosed with MS
  • Can walk at least 10 meters (with or without assistive devices)
  • No recent MS relapse (past month)
  • No recent medication changes (past two months)
  • No cardiac, vascular, pulmonary, or additional neurological conditions
  • Not currently pregnant

Exclusion Qualifications:

You may not participate in this research opportunity if any of the following applies to you:
  1. Multiple Sclerosis-Related Factors:

    • MS-related exacerbation within one month prior to enrollment.
    • Change in disease-modifying therapy within two months prior to enrollment.
  2. Exercise and Activity-Related Factors:

    • Current participation in a structured walking program.
    • Participation in a structured walking program within two months prior to enrollment.
  3. Medical Conditions:

    • History of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE).
    • Peripheral vascular disease.
    • Clotting disorders.
    • Severe or uncontrolled hypertension.
    • Additional neurologic, cardiac, or pulmonary comorbidities.
  4. Other Factors:

    • Pregnancy.
