CHPS RESEARCH STUDIES
Evaluation of Hand Dexterity with Virtual Reality
The Box and Block Test (BBT) and the Modified Box and Block Test (MBBT) measure hand movements. We are comparing your scores on these tests to determine how different factors, such as grip strength and hand measurements, affect your scores on the BBT and MBBT in the virtual reality (VR) setting.
Inclusion Qualifications:
- availability for an in-person study session at one of the University of Central Florida locations
- aged 18-64
- Full muscular control of your upper extremities that would allow you to perform repetitive hand grasp movements required for this study
Exclusion Qualifications:
You may not participate in this research opportunity if any of the following applies to you:- Never used the Box and Block Test (BBT) or the Modified Box and Block Test (MBBT) in either traditional or virtual reality
settings - Not have a history of virtual reality-induced conditions
- No known condition that would impact your level of safety or comfort while using virtual reality (such as VR-related motion sickness, vertigo, or seizures)
