Angela Ziegler, MA, CCC-SLP, RYT-200, is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, where she serves as the facilitator for the Intensive Comprehensive Aphasia Program (ICAP) at the UCF Aphasia House. Ziegler earned her Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida in 2011.
Ziegler’s clinical work is focused on the evaluation and treatment of acquired neurological communication disorders, with particular emphasis on aphasia and related conditions. Drawing on more than a decade of experience across acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient settings at Orlando Regional Medical Center and other facilities, she brings a broad and deep clinical perspective to her work with patients, co-survivors, and graduate clinicians.
As a facilitator of the ICAP, Ziegler oversees a personalized six-week program serving clients and co-survivors from around the world, addressing each individual’s communication, assistive technology, rehabilitative, cultural, and social-emotional needs. As a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200), Ziegler integrates mind-body practices into her clinical approach and clinical education of her students, recognizing the role of holistic wellness in supporting the social-emotional and rehabilitative needs of individuals living with aphasia and acquired neurological conditions as well as those learning about them during their graduate education and clinical training. She provides training and supervision to graduate clinicians delivering evidence-based evaluations and interventions and incorporates this perspective into her teaching to broaden clinicians’ understanding of whole-person care.
Ziegler is an active member of UCF’s Interprofessional Education Committee, where she has designed and implemented training programs for students in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders and allied health professionals targeting the IPEC Core Competencies. She presents regularly at local and national conferences.
