Thirty-six physical therapy students from the class of 2022 cohort presented their capstone research projects during a community forum on April 9 at UCF.

Students were split into groups and navigated conducting their research during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The students covered an array of topics including physical therapy for children with Down Syndrome, changes in shoulder strength in baseball players throughout a sports season, confidence of physical therapy in treating patients with dementia and management of low back pain.

“Becoming comfortable with research is a key objective of the graduate student experience,” says Matt Stock, associate professor in the Division of Physical Therapy. “By successfully navigating the rigors of our program’s research curriculum, our Class of 2022 DPT graduates have a richer sense of what it means to be an evidence-based clinician.”
