UCF Athletic Training Students Practice Spineboarding

Each spring, seniors in the Athletic Training Program hone their emergency skills during a semester-long course named Acute Care in Athletic Training.

“They get a one-credit refresher course on emergency skills just before graduation,” said Athletic Training Program Director Kristen Schellhase. “Most of these skills are learned in the first semester, so we think the review is important.”

This week the students practiced spine boarding under the guidance of Instructor Carlos Gual, and college photographer Abi Bell was there to capture the exercise.
