Assessing the needs of Cuban Immigrants
The purpose of this study is to explore and describe the migration experiences of recent Cuban immigrants living in the U.S.A. post the July 11, 2021, protests that took place in Cuba.
You are being asked to participate in a Qualtrics survey and an audio recorded phone interview. The survey will ask you demographics questions and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. Then, within 24 hours, you will participate in the interview over the phone. During the phone interview, you will be asked about your migration experience, adjustment to the U.S.A., health care needs, economic and employment challenges, social supports, immigration status issues, educational needs, family dynamics and childcare needs, cultural identity, and helpful resources. You are welcome to skip any question you do not wish to answer. Interviews will last approximately 60 minutes.
Inclusion Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years or older
- Must be a Cuban immigrant living in the U.S.A. who immigrated after July 11, 2021
Exclusion Qualifications:
You may not participate in this research opportunity if any of the following applies to you:- Under 18
- Not Cuban or immigrated prior to July 11, 2021.
