Violette Gibbs is a PhD student in Kinesiology at the University of Central Florida. She obtained a B.S. in Biology from the University of Central Florida, and pursued a career as a wellness practitioner. Her trajectory shifted as she experienced a life changing event that resulted in a permanent injury and decided to pursue the research and study of innovative strategies in rehabilitation and pain management. Violette continues to work as a licensed massage therapist and certified meditation instructor. She is an E-RYT200 registered yoga instructor and anatomy and physiology teacher trainer through Yoga Alliance. She is also a certified sports nutritionist through the International Society of Sports Nutrition and recently completed a master’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Central Florida with a concentration in sports nutrition, pain, and rehabilitation. As an incoming research assistant in Abigail Anderson’s Rehabilitation and Pain Modulation Lab (RAMP), Violette’s research interests include Mind-Body interventions in individuals with chronic pain and post rehabilitation pain management strategies.
In her spare time, she enjoys yoga and meditation, traveling, cooking, hiking, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
