Graduate Assistant

Kworweinski Lafontant is a doctoral student in Kinesiology under the mentorship of Dr. Jeffrey Stout in the Physiology of Work and Exercise Response (POWER) Laboratory. He earned his B.S. in Exercise Science from Hope College and his M.S. in Exercise Science from the University of South Florida.

Kworweinski is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as a Certified Exercise Physiologist and Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. His research interests focus on human performance enhancement through exercise, nutrition, supplementation, and testing modalities. He is currently collaborating with the UCF College of Nursing on an NIH R01–funded study aimed at reducing fall risk among older adults in the greater Orlando community. His recent projects include examining dietary habits and supplementation in high-intensity functional training athletes, assessing the reliability of bioelectrical impedance devices, and screening for fall risk and frailty among older adults using bioimpedance and markerless single-camera systems.

As an instructor, Kworweinski has taught undergraduate courses including Kinetic Anatomy, Assessment and Evaluation, and Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism. Outside of teaching and research, he enjoys volunteering in the Orlando community (his hometown), exercising, and exploring new flavors of Arizona Iced Tea.
