Graduate Assistant

Jonathan Beausejour is a PhD candidate in the School of Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Central Florida (UCF). After obtaining his Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Life University in Atlanta Georgia, he completed his master’s degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Biomechanics at Auburn University.  As a Graduate Research Assistant in the UCF Institute of Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation Science, Jonathan’s research interests include investigating neuromuscular adaptations following resistance training, muscle fatigue, and neuromodulation in athletes, older adults, and special populations. Jonathan also has a vested interest in investigating methodology commonly used in neuromuscular assessment and intervention paradigms. He has published multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts in reputable journals such as the Journal of Applied Physiology, Experimental Brain Research, and the International Journal of Sports Medicine. During his time at UCF, Jonathan has earned graduate certificates in Advanced Quantitative Methodologies and gross anatomy based-Anatomical Sciences, and serves as instructor of record for the Kinetic Anatomy and Applied Biomechanics undergraduate sections. He has also won multiple university- and national-level awards for his undergraduate teaching and academic writing. Jonathan’s future work will look to explore the efficacy/potential of non-invasive neuronal interventions to improve muscular performance and recovery.
