Graduate Assistant

Jack Livingston is a master’s student in Kinesiology on the Human Performance Track under the mentorship of Dr. David Fukuda. He earned his B.S. in Kinesiology at UCF, where he began working as a research assistant in the Physiology of Work and Exercise Response (POWER) Laboratory. His research interests include high-intensity functional training, muscle damage and recovery, and hemodynamic responses to exercise. His thesis examines the use of NIRS-derived muscle oxygenation breakpoints as predictors of fatigue threshold and exercise performance.

Jack is a graduate assistant in the POWER Laboratory and a clinical research intern at the AdventHealth Translational Research Institute. He has presented at UCF’s Student Scholar Symposium and the International Society of Sports Nutrition Conference, and has co-authored several manuscripts. As a teaching assistant, he is passionate about supporting students and building his teaching experience.

Outside of academics, Jack is a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer at CrossFit Lion’s Den. He enjoys Olympic weightlifting, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.
