Becky Carson is a kinesiology PhD student at the University of Central Florida. Becky is working in the READY Laboratory under Colby Mangum. Her primary role serves as a PhD research assistant for a Department of Defense funded study assessing differences in standard of care exercises and power-based exercises for patients with patellofemoral pain. She has earned a B.S. in Athletic Training at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan, and her M.A. in Higher Education and Leadership from the University of Central Florida. During her time in Michigan, she served as the Chair of the Student Senate for GLATA (Great Lakes Athletic Training Association) and presented research at the GLATA and NATA (National Athletic Training Association’s) annual conferences. In the past, she has worked with the UCF Recreation and Wellness Center as a Coordinator for Athletic Training and Risk Management. This experience helped develop her areas of research interest within injury risk/rate of recreational athletes, functional movement screen scores, and subsequent rehabilitation or preventative intervention outcomes. Her interests include traveling, spending time with friends, and cheering on her Detroit Sports Teams.
