UCF Health Audiology
Comprehensive Hearing Care, Personalized for Every Patient
Better hearing can improve communication, confidence and overall quality of life. UCF Health Audiology provides comprehensive hearing services for children (ages 4 and up) and adults, from diagnostic evaluations and tinnitus management to hearing aids, cochlear implant care and hearing protection. Our compassionate and experienced audiologists work closely with each patient to assess hearing concerns, recommend personalized solutions, and provide ongoing support using the latest hearing technologies to help patients stay connected to the people and moments that matter most.
Our services are available through two convenient locations in central Florida: Research Park (in East Orlando, adjacent to the UCF campus) and in Lake Nona, just off State Road 417 in Medical City. Parking is readily available and free at both locations.

Hearing Services
- Diagnostic hearing evaluations for ages 4 years old and up
- Central auditory processing evaluations for ages 7 and up
- Cochlear implant services, activations, mapping and troubleshooting. Provide cochlear implant CI for all ages using Advanced Bionics, Cochlear Americas and Med-El technologies
- Hearing aid consultations
- Hearing aid fitting and programming/re-programming
- Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) evaluations, consultation/ treatment options
- Custom earmolds for hearing protection, hearing conservation, musicians and swim plugs
- Hearing conservation evaluations and services
- Auditory Evoked Potential Evaluations – Auditory Brainstem Response
- Electrophysiological Evaluations – Middle Ear Analysis and Otoacoustic Emissions
- Universal Newborn Hearing Screenings
Hearing Aids/Cochlear Implant Services
- A large selection of state-of-the-art digital hearing aid technology
- A large selection of styles and technology available from multiple manufacturer’s to include a one, two or three year warranty
- Assistive listening devices; amplified telephones, alerting devices, FM systems and wireless/Bluetooth options for telephone, television, electronic devices and mini microphones
- Customized fitting of hearing aids
- Adjustments and re-programming of hearing aids
- Minor repairs completed on-site
- Cochlear Implant consultations and services for all three cochlear implant manufacturers
- Annual hearing aid testing
- Hearing aid verification
Insurance
We accept a variety of health insurance plans and continue to expand our network of participating insurers. If you do not see your insurance plan listed below, please contact our office at 407-882-0468. Before you are scheduled with our clinic we verify your benefits, confirm whether we are in network with your plan, and explain your coverage before your appointment.

If we are not participating with your insurance plan, and your plan does not include out-of-network benefits, we are happy to discuss self-pay options and provide an estimate for the services you are seeking.

Janel Cosby, CCC-A, FAAA
Biography
Dr. Janel Cosby is a board-certified Doctor of Audiology specializing in cochlear implants, aural rehabilitation, and the evaluation and management of hearing disorders across the lifespan. Her areas of expertise include hearing aids, central auditory processing, cognition and aging, and tinnitus evaluations. She is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to improve the quality of life for individuals with hearing challenges.
Education
Dr. Cosby earned her Bachelor of Science in communicative disorders from UCF. She obtained both her Doctor of Philosophy in communication sciences and disorders and her Doctor of Audiology degrees from East Carolina University.
Background
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Cosby serves as an associate lecturer at UCF and is a member of the Graduate Admissions Committee for the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. In 2012, she completed a year-long initiative, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Leadership Development Program-Audiology (ASHA LDP-A), and in 2009, she completed a year-long AG Bell Cochlear Implant Fellowship at East Carolina University.
Annette Garced-Santiago, AuD, ABA-Certified
Biography
Dr. Annette Garced-Santiago is certified by the American Board of Audiology and specializes in pediatric audiology, hearing aids, and auditory processing disorders. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals of all ages. Dr. Garced-Santiago is fluent in English and Spanish.
Education and Awards
Dr. Garced-Santiago earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Puerto Rico. She is the recipient of several honors, including the Citizenship Media Award, the Mujer Real Dove Award by Unilever, and recognition as one of America’s Best Doctors by the American Health Council.
Background
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Garced-Santiago is an adjunct faculty member at Albizu University. She is actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), where she advocates for advancements in audiology, including Medicare telehealth services. Dr. Garced-Santiago also holds telehealth registration in Louisiana, expanding access to audiologic care across state lines.
