CHPS RESEARCH STUDIES
Brain-muscle communication after ACL injury
The general purpose of this study is to learn more about brain and muscle communication. We know that when you move, your brain and muscles communicate seamlessly. This helps you stay balanced and move smoothly. The study wants to look closely at how the brain controls the muscles. By understanding this better, we hope to help people who have been injured, like hurting their knees, by finding ways to improve their recovery.
Inclusion Qualifications:
Inclusion criteria – ACL group:
- Age 18-35 years
- History of primary unilateral ACL reconstruction (ACLR) within last 2 years
- No history of any lower limb surgery besides the current ACLR
- Medical clearance to initiate jogging
Inclusion criteria – Uninjured group:
- Age 18-35 years
- No history of lower extremity surgery
- No history of lower extremity injury (defined as seeking medical attention) within last 2 years
Exclusion Qualifications:
You may not participate in this research opportunity if any of the following applies to you:Exclusion criteria – All participants:
