Faculty and Staff

Monica Folkerts, PhD, is an Assistant Research Professor at the Communication Technologies Research Center in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She earned her doctorate in Hearing and Speech Sciences from Vanderbilt University, focusing on spatial hearing and sensorineural hearing loss. Folkerts completed her postdoctoral training in the Otolaryngology department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where her research expanded to examine the effects of aging on binaural hearing through neurophysiological measures. Her current work investigates binaural hearing with hearing aids in complex auditory environments.
