Hamzeh Ghasemzadeh is an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Central Florida. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Ghasemzadeh holds dual PhD degrees in “Communicative Sciences and Disorders” and “Computational Mathematics, Science, and Engineering” from Michigan State University, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

His primary research interests lie at the intersection of instrumental assessment of voice and speech, statistical signal and image processing, and machine learning. Ghasemzadeh has been the recipient of the 2025 ASHA Early Career Contributions in Research Award, the 2020 national CAPCSD Ph.D. Scholarship, and the 2019 Sataloff Award for Young Investigators, co-sponsored by Elsevier and The Voice Foundation.

He currently serves as the Principal Investigator on an NIH K99/R00 grant (K99 DC021235) and has contributed as key personnel on several federally funded research projects (P50 DC015446, R01 DC019402, R01 DC017923, R01 DC009029, and R01 DC018008)
