Brittany Fletcher, PhD, CCC-SLP, is a Lecturer in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Central Florida. She earned her doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Cincinnati, where her research focused on the intersection of speech science, linguistics, and technology for children who speak non-mainstream American English dialects. Dr. Fletcher completed her postdoctoral fellowship in the Stepp Lab for Sensorimotor Rehabilitation Engineering in the Department of Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences at Boston University’s Sargent College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences. During this time, her work expanded to investigate the influence of linguistic factors on the assessment of voice disorders within a commonly used clinical voice task. Currently, she collaborates with investigators in the Communication Technologies Research Center on NIH-funded projects, advancing inclusive, evidence-based approaches to speech and voice science.
