Andrew (Andy) Dykstra is an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Central Florida (UCF), where he directs the Conscious Audition and Scene Analysis (CASA) Lab within the Communication Technologies Research Center (CTRC). His research focuses on understanding how humans across the lifespan perceive and process sound, with particular emphasis on the neural basis of hearing in noisy environments and on the neural basis of conscious audition. His work has been funded by the NIH, Foundation Pour l’Audition (Foundation for Audition, or FPA), and the Clinical and Translation Science Institute (CTSI) at the University of Miami. He maintains active membership in several national and international scientific societies, and his teaching interests are in statistics and data analysis as well as the neuroscience of speech, language, and hearing.
