Graduate Assistant

Sofea Smith is a master’s student in Kinesiology on the Human Performance Track under the mentorship of Dr. David Fukuda in the Physiology of Work and Exercise Response (POWER) Laboratory. She also serves as a graduate assistant in the Kinesiology Teaching Laboratory, where she mentors undergraduate students and assists with courses such as Assessment and Evaluation in Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology II. She holds a B.S. in Exercise Science, during which she gained experience training athletes with research-based methods to optimize performance. Sofea’s research interests include muscular adaptations and methods to track and optimize body composition, with additional interests in dietary supplementation and body composition assessment
