The purpose of this study is to improve our ability to identify and support college students who are experiencing violence in their relationships. We want to know more about the types of violence students might be experiencing in their relationships and what kinds if support would be most helpful for the university to give. To do, that we are developing a questionnaire to try and better capture the experiences of students on campus.

What we learn here today will help researchers and Student Health Services to improve efforts to assist students who are experiencing abuse in their relationships.

No, it will not. We made sure not to ask your name or any other information that could possibly identify you. The questionnaires are stored separately, with the researchers, and are not part of your medical file. As such, no identifying information is linked to your answers.

No, this does not affect your care. Your decision to participate or not to participate in this study will in no way affect your relationship with UCF, including continued enrollment, grades, employment, or your relationship with the individuals who may have an interest in this study. Regardless of whether or not you decide to participate, we encourage you to talk about your relationships with your provider if you have any doubts or concerns.
