Yegidis Joins Mental Health Association Board
School Director and Professor Bonnie Yegidis has been elected a member of the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Association of Central Florida by a unanimous vote. The organization provides mental health services, support and information to members of the Central Florida community.
Schools Hosts Resilence Film, Discussion
UCF’s School of Social Work hosted a June 26 screening and panel discussion of Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope (click on photo to enlarge and view panelists’ names). The school plans to present the screening in combination with continuing education units in the fall.

UCF’s College of Sciences honored Professor Sophia Dziegielewski (right) with its Outstanding AlumKnights Award on March 1 to recognize her exceptional achievements. Dziegielewski earned her undergraduate degree in sociology from the college.
Students, Faculty Provide Care at Apopka Clinic
Twenty-five members of the school — 11 BSW students, 11 MSW students and three faculty members — provided care to 72 patients at the latest community clinic in Apopka. They served on interprofessional provider teams and staffed triage during the 5 1/2-hour event, held Feb. 15.
Preparation for Social Work Licensure
The School of Social Work will host an exam preparation course for MSW students, alumni and community members who are seeking clinical social work licensure in the state of Florida by exam. This intensive course will be held May 19 and 20, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in HPA I (room TBA) at UCF. Participation on both days is expected.
