Nindl, PhD, FACSM, FNAK, COL (USAR, ret.)\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]Bradley C. Nindl, PhD, FACSM, FNAK, COL (USAR, ret.) is an internationally recognized exercise physiologist whose research has helped define the field of military human performance optimization. He is Director of the Neuromuscular Research Laboratory\/Warrior Human Performance Research Center and Professor and Vice Chair for Research at the University of Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Nindl\u2019s research integrates exercise physiology, endocrinology, neuromuscular biology, and biomarker discovery to enhance Warfighter readiness, resilience, recovery, and musculoskeletal health. He has authored more than 290 peer-reviewed publications, received more than 9,300 citations (h-index 54), and secured over $30 million in competitive research funding as principal investigator since 2016. He is recognized among the Stanford\u2013Elsevier World\u2019s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists.<\/p>\n<p>A retired U.S. Army Colonel, Dr. Nindl completed 34 years of military service, including combat service in Iraq and command of the 139th Medical Brigade and Southeast Medical Area Readiness. His honors include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Action Badge, Order of Military Medical Merit, Army Surgeon General\u2019s 9A Proficiency Designator, and the 2026 International Congress on Soldiers\u2019 Physical Performance Lifetime Achievement Award. His research focuses on the assessment and modification of human body composition in populations ranging from athletes and fitness enthusiasts to individuals with obesity and other chronic conditions. He also investigates how energy balance interventions and sports nutrition strategies influence health, performance, and physiological adaptation. In addition to his academic position, Dr. Tinsley serves as Chief Science Officer of Vineyard Health, a virtual medical practice providing comprehensive cardiometabolic care, and as a scientific advisor to several health, nutrition, and technology companies. Dr. Tinsley has published more than 180 peer-reviewed journal articles and has served as principal investigator on more than 20 externally supported research projects. He earned his Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Exercise Nutrition, and Health Promotion from Baylor University and is a Fellow of both the American College of Sports Medicine and the International Society of Sports Nutrition. His research focuses on improving exercise performance and physique enhancement within a maintainable lifestyle. Dr. Campbell\u2019s pioneering research includes dietary protein intake to optimize body composition, rapid fat loss strategies, and incorporating diet breaks into weight loss programs. Her research program examines nutritional and behavioral factors that influence health and performance across collegiate athletes, tactical populations, and active adults. Singleton is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Sports Nutritionist through the International Society of Sports Nutrition, bringing a multidisciplinary perspective to her research and teaching. Her work includes collaborations with collegiate athletic programs and first responder populations, with an emphasis on translating research findings into practical nutrition and performance strategies. Singleton is also deeply committed to research mentorship and has guided students through independent research projects, conference presentations, publications, and other scholarly activities. Newsome is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Central Florida. She received a BS in Exercise Science from Georgia State University and earned a doctoral degree with an interdisciplinary concentration in exercise physiology and public health from the University of South Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Newsome\u2019s research focuses on the assessment and promotion of physical activity and exercise behaviors among women across the lifespan with a specific emphasis on maternal cardiometabolic and psychological health outcomes. Her current projects leverage wearable devices and ecological momentary assessment to capture free living physical health behaviors, autonomic regulation, psychological distress, and recovery processes. She also examines psychosocial and perceptual determinants of exercise adoption and maintenance, including affect, self-efficacy, and motivation. As a practitioner, she brings more than a decade of leadership experience in collegiate recreation and sport performance coaching.<\/p>\n<p>Newsome is a Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach and trained clinical exercise physiologist who has worked in clinical settings to integrate physical activity into patient care and rehabilitation. Dr. Hannigan received her Ph.D. in sports medicine from the University of Virginia where she evaluated biomechanical and strength adaptations following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction before and after high-intensity exercise. Following completion of her Ph.D., Dr. Hannian worked as postdoctoral fellow at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formerly known as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago) in the Center for Bionic Medicine. In her postdoctoral training, Dr. Hannigan worked with individuals with lower limb amputation on interventions to improve muscle strength in the intact limb.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lecture: Science in the Olympic Arena<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Creating Olympic champions requires incredible talent, work ethic, coaching, and body awareness. It also requires a team of scientists and clinicians who work behind the scenes to monitor training loads, performance, and recovery. Collins, PhD\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]Dr. Audrey Collins is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Neuroscience Institute at AdventHealth Research Institute in Orlando, Florida. Trained as an exercise physiologist, she investigates how daily movement behaviors, such as physical activity, sedentary behavior, and sleep, are related to brain health and aging. Her research examines how time use across these behaviors throughout the day may differentially relate to markers of brain and peripheral health, with a particular interest in the role of physical activity to promote cognitive function and reduce dementia risk. Through this work, Dr. Collins aims to develop evidence-based, translational strategies that leverage 24-hour time use to optimize brain and overall health across the lifespan. A cardiovascular and autonomic physiologist by training, Christian earned his PhD in the Human Performance and Health Research Lab at the University of Guelph and completed postdoctoral training with the M3 Research Group at Maastricht University. His graduate and postdoctoral research examined how daily behaviors such as exercise, nutrition, and cannabis use influence cardiac autonomic function, cardiovascular health, and human performance. That focus on connecting everyday behavior to physiology is what drew him to WHOOP, where he now extends those questions from the laboratory to hundreds of thousands of people using real-world wearable data. He leads WHOOP&#8217;s COMET research program, which investigates cardiometabolic health across tens of thousands of members, spanning outcomes from blood pressure to the physiology and behavior associated with weight loss. Prior career highlights include serving as Head of Medical Services for the MLS Professional Referee Organization, two terms as chair of the AASPT Sports Performance Enhancement SIG, and service as an embedded sports medicine provider (POTFF) supporting US Air Force and Army Special Operations Command. He was named the 2023 NSCA Sports Medicine Professional of the Year. Scot is completing his PhD under Franco Impellizzeri at the University of Verona, focusing on measurement theory and predictive modeling in sports science.<\/p>\n<p>His publications and presentations address the management of tendinopathies and overuse injuries, the psychometric properties of performance testing, data-informed decision making, and the integration of exercise prescription into rehabilitation and return-to-performance processes. She is passionate about bridging the gap between rehabilitation and performance, with a specialized focus on working with performing artists and athletes. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Florida International University and brings more than 15 years of experience coaching competitive gymnastics, working with individuals ranging from young children to elite performers.<\/p>\n<p>Her background in gymnastics, combined with her experience in calisthenics and strength training, has shaped an individualized approach to rehabilitation and performance that emphasizes building strength, developing quality movement, and preparing clients for the physical demands of their sport or craft. At Old Bull Athletics, Dr. Sadowsky works with clients across the spectrum of wellness\u2014from injury prevention and performance development to rehabilitation and return to sport or performance.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Sadowsky is co-founder of the Old Bull Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to health, fitness, and evidence-based strength programming for underserved youth. She earned her PhD in Translational Biomedical Sciences from Ohio University in 2026, where her research focused on sensorimotor control following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and reconstruction.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Schnittjer\u2019s path to research was shaped by more than five years of clinical practice as a certified athletic trainer in secondary school, collegiate, and orthopedic settings. Working with patients recovering from musculoskeletal injury motivated her interest in understanding why traditional markers of recovery may not fully capture an individual\u2019s ability to meet the demands of sport. That question has remained central to her work, from early research examining how cognitive demands influence jump-landing mechanics to her doctoral studies investigating relationships between resting-state functional brain connectivity and responses to unanticipated gait perturbations. He earned dual bachelor\u2019s degrees in physical education with a concentration in Taekwondo and sports medicine from Kyung Hee University in South Korea, a master\u2019s degree in athletic training from Weber State University, a second master\u2019s degree in athletic training (post-professional) from Ohio University, and a PhD in Translational Biomedical Sciences from Ohio University.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kim\u2019s research focuses on the neurophysiological and biomechanical mechanisms underlying persistent functional deficits after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and other musculoskeletal injuries, with particular emphasis on quadriceps weakness and altered movement patterns. Drawing on his clinical and research experience, he integrates neuroscience, neuroimaging, biomechanics, and athletic training to investigate how central nervous system adaptations influence recovery, performance, reinjury risk, and long-term joint health.
