I am proud to call myself a professional educator as I have been teaching adults in different environments for over 25 years. It started in the US Air Force where I taught avionic navigation systems maintenance to other Air Force personnel. From there I took a management position at a high-level nuclear waste site teaching plant operators their specific job tasks in this new technology facility. In 1995 I moved to Clermont and opened a bed and breakfast, sold it and bought the local newspaper. I had been elected to the Clermont City Council in 1998, served as President of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce and became involved in the revitalization of the historic downtown. In 2003, UCF had created the Sport and Fitness on the Clermont campus and in 2004 I began teaching the business side of the program as an adjunct. In 2010 I earned my second master’s degree, this one in Sport and Fitness and accepted a full- time teaching position at UCF in what had been changed to the Sport and Exercise Science program. I have been teaching in that program, recently changed to Kinesiology, ever since. As an instructor my goal is to provide an enjoyable learning environment while using personal experience and appropriate textbook information to enable students to be successful in this course, their collegiate program, and in life.
