Ali Amirkhosravi is a Lecturer in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Central Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Portsmouth (United Kingdom), and his doctoral degree in Medical Research from the University of Southampton (United Kingdom). Amirkhosravi has 25 years of basic and translational research experience in the area of blood clotting and thrombosis, including mentoring graduate students, medical students, physician scientists, and post-doctoral researchers, as well as collaborating and consulting with scientists from numerous pharmaceutical companies. He has published numerous research articles in the area of thrombosis and hemostasis and is also an inventor on awarded patents. Amirkhosravi currently teaches Pathophysiology (I) and Concepts in Pathophysiological Diagnosis. His specific research interests include: alterations in blood clotting system and platelet function; cancer-associated thrombosis; and autoimmune disease-associated thrombosis.
