Welcome to the Department of Health Sciences in the College of Health Professions and Sciences at the University of Central Florida. We’re delighted you’re visiting our website and hope the information benefits you in every way possible.

Our department offers state of the art opportunities that foster education and research in pathophysiology, community health promotion and nutrition. Our faculty and students are actively engaged in experiential learning and cutting-edge research projects that contribute to improving the health of individuals and communities.

Currently, the department offers a major and minor in Health Sciences. The Bachelor of Sciences in Health sciences is the most popular and largest undergraduate major at UCF. This major offers two career focused academic tracks: the Pre-Clinical Track and the Health Sciences (Promotion) Track. Additionally, the department is in the process of developing a master’s degree in Health Sciences with specializations in clinical research/pathophysiology, community health promotion and clinical nutrition.

The Department of Health Sciences is dedicated to providing students with world-class education, research, practice, and community service opportunities that aim to promote the health and well-being of individuals and communities. Teaching and research emphases within the Department uniquely incorporate clinical research and pathophysiology, community health promotion, and clinical nutrition to provide students with an interdisciplinary health background and prepare them for diverse health career paths.
