Ryan Girts is a Ph.D. student and graduate assistant in the Exercise Physiology program at the University of Central Florida. After obtaining his Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, he completed his Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science at UCF. Girts is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. As a research coordinator in Matt Stock’s Neuromuscular Plasticity Laboratory, Ryan’s research interests include motor imagery, neuromuscular control, skeletal muscle composition, and strength. In the undergraduate Kinesiology program, Girts currently teaches PET 3005: Introduction to Kinesiology. In his spare time, he enjoys training as a competitive bodybuilder.
